Not much interest for 2019

I put out the word about having another gathering this year.  The response has been weak.  Sad that there isn't much interest.  Maybe in the future that will change.

Would like to do a gathering this year 2019.

If there is enough interest I'd like to have another Wooden Surfboards Gathering.  It'd be in the same place and most likely in September or October.  That seems to be the best time of year for waves and the water is still warm.

Busy Times.

This year is going to be very special for me and my family.  My daughter and her husband are expecting their first child in Oct.  I'm super happy for them.  My plans to have an wooden surfboard gather will have to wait until 2019.  Thanks for your support.

It was nice to meet some new people and see old friends.  Here are a few pics.

I'll probably have a gathering sometime in the fall of 2018.  More will be posted about that later.

October 13, 14 & 15th

Tom Renick Park off A1A

Saturday/Sunday 9 AM - 3 PM

On October 13, 14 & 15th there will be a gathering of people that appreciate wooden surfboards.  All are welcome.  The event is free.  The venue will be at Tom Renick Park in Ormond by the Sea, Florida.  The itinerary consists of a meet and greet on Friday 5:30 PM at the Beach Side Brewery  Saturday, I'll set-up in the pavilion area.  If there are waves we can paddle out.  Otherwise we can meet under the canopy.  Saturday evening we can meet at O'Hara's Irish Pub just down the street from the park.  Sunday, I'll set-up again for another fun day at the beach.

Anyone with an interest in woodworking, surfing or is just curious about it is encouraged to come.  If you have a wood board.  Bring it and share your story.

Renick Park  If the parking lot is full there is parking across A1A and down a couple blocks.  That would be across from the Ormond by the Sea Condominiums.  It's a huge lot for public parking.

Usually the surf is fairly good this time of year.  The water is warm and it's a friendly beach break wave.  There is good beachside camping at Gamble Rogers State Park. Gamble Rogers SP
